Have you ever wanted to try sailing?
Sea Scout Ship 711 invites guests to join us aboard our 43-foot sailboat. Because sailing is a hands-on physical activity, guests must be at least 12 years old. These events are primarily intended for young people ages 12–20, but parents/chaperones are welcome to participate too.
We offer two types of sailing opportunities:
- Wednesday evening sails in Newport Harbor (7/22, 7/29, 8/5, 8/12)
- Weekend sails on the ocean (7/25, 8/1)
No sailing experience is required. Guests are treated as part of the crew and may help raise sails, handle lines, steer the boat, and learn how everyone works together. Our experienced Sea Scouts and adult leaders will provide instruction and guidance.
