District Announcements

Saturday May 10th Oso Lake. This is a service opportunity for units to host a booth for prospective scouts and families to see again what scouting is all about and experience a day at Oso Lake. Those who have been invited are from SOR last November who either registered and haven’t connected/registered with a unit, those who didn’t register yet, those who didn’t end up attending SOR. Please contact Dani (pacifica.districtchair@gmail.com if you would like to help with this event.

Time & Place TBD.   Russell Etzenhouser Council Executive, Steve Bradley Council Commissioner and Bill Baker Council Board President will be coming to speak about the State of the Orange County Council. A few years ago the Council Key 3 came to speak at a Town Hall Meeting regarding the State of the Orange County Council and National. This is an important meeting for leaders/any volunteer/parent to attend.

Dinner Saturday May 31st 6pm St. Bonaventure Church, 16400 Springdale St. HB, corner of Heil and Springdale. We will be in the Hall. Units are encouraged to select up to 2 Unit Exceptional Scouters to recognize for outstanding service to their unit. UES recipients do not have to be registered with the unit to be recognized.  Below is the UES form. The form is due to Quynh-Thi Vidal, vidal411@gmail.com, by Friday May 16th.

Registration is open for the 3 Council Day Camps available for Cub Scouts. Cubs can attend any or all of the Day Camps. Each camp offers different activities / requirements.  Non-scouts can register for Day Camps, this is a great opportunity to have family &/or friends join your scouts for camp. Day Camps also need adult volunteers as well as youth volunteers to help the camps run.
